|Darwin||Male||Adult||Darwin is a special cat. He is one of the remaining "hoarder bust" cats. Darwin is still afraid of most of us ... not feral by any means, but hesitant and not anxious to be held or groomed or even petted ... until he sees that we are handing out treats. Then Darwin loses all fear and is often first in line for his snack. He gets along very well with other cats. We are hoping that time and bribery will bring him around. ...|
|Zeeker & Itty Bitty Kitty||Adult|
Zeeker (shown) and his sister, Itty Bitty Kitty were on their way to the pound because their breeder had an accident and is no longer able to care for her cats. They are affectionate cats and seem to be friendly to everyone but they are each suffering from an upper respiratory infection and will need to continue their medications for about 10 days.
Zeeker and Itty Bitty Kitty are about 1 year old....
Villa and her kittens were found hiding in a closet in a newly constructed house. This clever cat knew just what to do to keep her kittens dry and safe from predators. All of her kittens have been placed so Villa is now in the main Cattery with the other adult cats at our Adoption Center.
She is probably only 10 months old but not at all playful. We don't know if that's because she had to grow up really fast or if she is just so darned tired and depleted...
|Blackie & Panda||Blackie & Panda are the last of their litter who were found surviving on their own. Even as exotic as they are, it didn't surprise us that their Tabby and Calico siblings were adopted while they were passed over. Even silky, shiny black cats have a really hard time competing for attention in adoption centers across the country. These two boys are now about 4 months old....|
Blackbird is a loner. She is happy to have attention when it is offered but rarely seeks it from visitors. She is much the same with other cats as well. She is fine with whatever they do but she doesn't engage them. Mostly she sits in her perch and watches the other cats as they play and visitors as they come and go.
Blackbird was dumped at our Adoption Center without even a note so we aren't sure if she is depressed or if this is just her nature.&...
|Bells Angel||Female||We don't know much about Bells Angel. She was found and brought to us in hopes she could find a safe home. She has been extremely distressed since her arrival. Life in a cage is very difficult for this cat. She hides under her towels and watches until she sees us looking at her. Then she tucks her head. It is obvious that she is missing someone, but with no tag and no chip, it is doubtful that she will ever find them....|
|Lexington Wildcat||Male||Teenager||Lexington Wildcat is recovering from a hit & run incident. This sweet little guy has been patched up and being only about four months old, he is makeing a remarkable recovery. The only remaining sign of his trauma is the little boo boo on his lip. Lex is a bit shy but then his world has been pretty scary up to this point. We are hoping his new family will keep him indoors. ...|
Moon is a skinny little 12 - 14 week old kitten. He was first seen with a group of kittens (and perhaps a mommy cat), but as days passed the numbers seemed to dwindle ... and then there was only one. It was obvious that little Moon would not last much longer so he was brought to us for TLC and an new home.
Moon has gobbled up enough food now that he is starting to fill out a bit. He is quick to show his appreciation with a friendly pat to anyone who passes...
Stinker is a 3 year old male who showed up one day as a stray. He was taken in by a woman with a big heart and another cat. The boys never really got along well but they tolerated each other for two years. When their hostess lost her job and then her home, she was forced to put them up for adoption. Stinker clearly misses her.
We think he would be happy as an only cat....
|Popcorn & Gizmo||Adult||Large|
Popcorn & Gizmo are both young adult male Maine Coon cats that came to us quite by coincidence on the same day. They are totally unrelated but they had to share cage space ... which worried us, but they get along very well and have both been delightful cats from the minute they arrived.
Gizmo's family moved away and left him behind. Popcorn is a "found" cat and probably has a heartsick owner somewhere, but when no one responded to the ads and posters...
