Visit the Midland's most productive animal rescue operation.  PETS, Inc. places nearly 3,000 animals each year.  Our modest Adoption Center houses approximately 200 homeless animals at all times. The adoption programs are supported by our discount pet food and supply store within the Adoption Building.  Our Neuter Scooter Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic now offers discounted vaccines, heartworm tests and other basic veterinary services through our Cheap Shots program.  You'll find a small but friendly doggie park that is open to the public seven days a week.

Volunteers Always Needed

We always welcome volunteers who will work or play with the animals, but now that we have a proper facility, we are hoping to encourage volunteers to help with administration tasks as well.

Can you provide a foster home?

Call us now if you are interested in fostering puppies or kittens. We don't have enough room for many of the nursing mommies and their litters that are coming to us desperate to avoid euthanasia at the pounds. Our ability to help them depends on the availabIlty of foster homes. PETS, Inc. will help you prepare for the little ones. We have loaner cages for kittens and can even help set up your yard for puppies. We will provide food and medical care. Learn more.

Alert! Check the recall list today!

Toxic Pet Food

Pet food recalls continue to appear more frequently each year.  The latest recall of  foods and treats made with chicken imported from China is particularly concerning because it is a repeat of the problems with chicken imported from China in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011.  We must spread the word so caring pet parents will not purchase pet food (of any kind) from manufacturers who care more about profits than providing safe products to their customers.

The current recall of chicken jerky treats is being resisted by most manufacturers so the treats are still on the store shelves.  The FDA is warning pet parents to watch their pets for signs of kidney failure.  Symptoms include decreased appetite, decreased activity, vomiting, diarrhea (sometimes with blood), increased water consumption and/or increased urination.

Symptoms and more info...

Take a good look at the manufacturers on the FDA's recall list and ask yourself if you should be paying them to poison your pets?  When we let these manufacturers know that we won't tolerate this, they will stop sourcing the cheapest ingredients they can find.  Meanwhile you can spend your money with reputable companies who don't compromise quality when they purchase ingredients.
