Rocky has been adopted!
Rocky knew which porch to park on when he found himself homelsss and all alone in the country. He visited with the resident cat (an irresistable Calico) and shared the good food and water supply for a few weeks before the family figured out he wasn't leaving. They took this "lover boy" to be vetted (including that important neuter surgery) so he could be re-homed. The bad news is that Rocky tested positive for FIV. That sounds perfectly awful, but... we've learned that FIV cats can live long, happy lives when they are given a supportive diet, a comfortable home and a loving family. They are contagious to other cats so they need to be in a home with other FIV cats or be the only cat in the house. Their disorder is not contagious to humans or dogs ... or anything other species. If you have a place in your heart (and home) for a charming lap cat, please call us at 803-739-9333 and tell the adoption counselors you would like to arrange to meet Rocky.
