Le Miz has been adopted!
Le Miz has made a remarkable recovery both physically and emotionally. Our Kennel Director says she is the best dog in the house but no one has even given her a nod. Maybe its the scars on her face ...or maybe its just too difficult for people to see the cruelty that lives on in our community.
Le Miz is a reminder that the ones who need us the most are often the most difficult to help. We don't know what caused her injuries but we could see that she has endured a dreadful life. She came to us this weekend with her heart as damaged as her face. We knew we should not have taken her in. Our kennel is full of dogs much like her ... but it seemed to us that only a monster could turn her away. We thanked the gentle ladies who brought her to us and now our work begins. Healing her wounds is the easy part. Finding someone who will give a scarred up, heartbroken dog like this a chance is the real challenge.
Le Miz is gentle with people and animals. She appears to be about 2 or 3 years old and that is really all we know about her at this point.
