Cossett's owner didn't want her anymore. He just wanted her gone. She was initially terrified of everyone. And she had a serious limp. X-rays revealed that her hip joint was damaged. The vet said it was too late to repair the damage and assured us that she was not in pain. We expect this could turn into an arthritic issue as she ages but that can be mitigated with proper nurtition. Cossett is about 5 years old. She is housetrained and after spending a couple of months with us, she is now comfortable with pretty much everyone. Her fear is gone, but her limp with be with her forever. This has hampered her ability to attract an adopter.
That is truly unfortunate because Cossett has a remarkably pleasant disposition and would bring a great deal of devotion to anyone who would treat her well.
