Adopt a Cat
PETS, Inc. always has a huge selection of adoptable cats. We make every effort to assist adopters in selecting cats and kittens well suited for their personalities and lifestyles. We will ask a great many questions, not so much to be nosey, but to be certain that we have not overlooked a potential problem when recommending a new companion animal.
Download and fill out your adoption application. Once you have completed your application, please fax or bring it by our office! We do place unaltered cats and kittens but with some restrictions. A large deposit is required and a definite spay/neuter date will set at the time of the adoption. The adopter will receive a veterinary authorization form that authorizes the veterinarian to bill PETS, Inc. for the surgery. The deposit is generally accepted in the form of a check or charge so that it can be held wiithout actually putting it through the bank. In essence, we hold the deposit hostage until the cat or kitten has been surgically altered. At that time, the deposit is voided and, if requested, mailed back to the adopter.
There is a risk involved in leaving this deposit. If the cat or kitten is lost or stolen before being altered, the deposit will be forfeited. We will use that money to spay or neuter another animal in its stead. This effectively prevents our policy from ever resulting in additional births.
Teenagers & Adult Cats -$89 - $150
With the exception of new arrivals, all cats over 4 months old are spayed or neutered before being put up for adoption. They will have received a test for Feline Leukemia and FIV/AIDS. We also provide each cat with two dewormers and all vaccines due at the time of adoption.
Kittens -$150
This includes microchip with lifetime registration, two dewormings, bordetella and all scheduled vaccines until the kittens are 4 months old. At that age we provide a rabies vaccine and spay/neuter surgery. If we have access to the mommy cat, she will be tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV/AIDS. If the kittens are orphans, one kitten from the litter will be tested at 9 weeks of age.
Teenagers & Adult Cats -$89 - $150
(and a little more for purebreds)
This includes microchip with lifetime registration, two dewormngs, bordetella, FVRCP, two Feline Leukemia vaccines, a rabies vaccine and spay/neuter surgery. All cats will be tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV/AIDS.
A 30-day pet insurance policy is provided to all animals adopted from PETS, Inc.Also included in the adoption fee is a pet taxi and a lifetime "Ticket Home" Pet I.D. registration ... because a visible tag is at least as important as a microchip.
