Who We Are
About PETSinc
PETSinc is dedicated to helping as many dogs and cats and their owners as we possibly can.
PETSinc was founded by Patricia “Pat” McQueen and Jane Brundage in December, 1991 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill animal rescue organization serving the South Carolina’s Midlands. The volunteer-only operation was so successful that a small adoption center was opened in 1993 with our first full-time employees. By 1998, the operation was moved to our present 13-acre site.
Our Mission
The mission of PETSinc is to assist the SC Midlands and surrounding counties with rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming unwanted and homeless dogs and cats through addressing each animal’s physical and emotional needs, providing medical, nutritional, and rehabilitation services to ensure successful life-long adoptions; provide a low-cost, full-service veterinary clinic, including spay-neuter surgeries to help control pet and shelter over-population; and to bring public awareness and education about the causes and solutions to the dramatic plight of hundreds of thousands homeless dogs and cats in the United States.
Growing to meeting our community’s needs
In 2006, we opened our current 10,000-square-feet adoption center located at 300 Orchard Drive in West Columbia, SC. In 2010, we opened a low-cost, high quality Neuter Scooter Vet Clinic to provide services for emergency rescues and spaying and neutering surgeries. Additional veterinary services were added later including dental services, blood tests, skin treatment, deworming, and illness/injury/preventative care. We extended our hours for the convenience of our clients, as well as networking with nearby rural communities who have little access to high-quality, affordable comprehensive vet care.
Working to solve animal over-population
PETSinc places over 2,000 animals into adoption or temporary foster homes each year. Our modest adoption center can shelter up to 75 homeless animals at any time who are waiting for their forever families. With each dog or cat that is brought to us, we offer basic vetting and grooming plus lifetime registration with our pet identification programs which helps us return lost pets to their owners. Having grown to helping thousands of distressed pets and their families each year through our comprehensive services, we can boast of nearly 97,000 success stories since our humble beginnings in 1991.
